Media exposure

If you happen to see The Abyss mentioned in a magazine or a major internet site, please tell me about it - I'd be most grateful!

Close-Up magazine

(The biggest Swedish metal magazine)

In the section "Svart på vitt" ("Black on white"), Åsa Swanö listed The Abyss as "www.slaytanic.com (Slayer-site. Everything you need.)". Thanks, Åsa!

Metal Hammer, Dec 1997 & April 1998

The Abyss was listed in Metal Hammer's "Internet Zone" column in the December 1997 and April 1998 issues.

RockHard, spring 1998

In English: "Additionally, we stumbled over the 'complete unofficial Slayer fan site' (http://www.slaytanic.com/) which we also consider very worth seeing. Here you can stop for quite a while and supply yourself with endless amounts of information."

Kerrang #666

The Abyss was featured in issue 666 (Sept. 20, 1997) of the British metal magazine "Kerrang!". In the article "Highway to Hell" ("Internet evil - a users guide"), they reviewed a number of "satanic" (What? Me satanic? :) web sites. They also included a screenshot of the bottom of the front page of the site (don't ask me why!). Here is the review, word by word:

THE ABYSS
Where is it: www.slaytanic.com
What is it: An unofficial Slayer website which skins the official one alive.
What's on it:
  • The biggest Slayer discography on the 'Net
  • Exclusive band photos
  • An extensive selection of lyrics
  • Up-to-date news bulletins

The best bit: The audio clip of Slayer's cover of Venom's classic 'Witching Hour'.
The worst bit: Reading the section containing the questions the band have been most frequently asked by fans is as much fun as disembowelling yourself with a spoon.
